So what's the difference between a body check and two or three guys in a corner battling for a loose puck?

Seems pretty silly. I highly doubt they actually go through with it. Women's hockey doesn't have bodychecking and they're within 2 metres of each other 99% of the time.

I could also see lawsuits happening as you could definitely make a case that it's negatively impacting the earning potential of players with a more defensive/physical mindset, and there's not really anything to back up their decision.

It's the Ontario Hockey League. The Ontario government will decide, not some person on the Twitter.

Face-offs will be decided by a socially distanced coin toss.

Not sure how bodychecking is an issue if puck battles in corners / behind the net are on going during the game.

Seems rather silly.

TBH, seems better to have no season than some formed modified rules that likely do not decrease any risk given the way the game is played.

Heaven forbid you hit anyone in a football game. Now they take aim on hockey.

I hear constantly at work (Im a teacher) that we need to stops sports and the pandemic will go away. There literally are no examples of teams transmitting COVID to their opponents during game play in any sport!
LET THEM PLAY and give all of us something to keep our mind off the virus and other far more serious matters!

Although technically a professional league...they make peanuts.

They shouldn’t have to risk their health for hockey...it’s not worth it.

The grown ups in the room need to make the right decision and cancel the season...but because of greed and capitalist inspired exploitation...they won’t.
